Our History

Our humble history began in the basement of the rectory of St. Ann Church in Wildwood, New Jersey. Lazarus House Emergency Food Pantry opened in September 2010, occupying a thirty-year-old, double-wide-trailer on the grounds of the former St. Ann Elementary School. In September 2011, under the guidance of the Greater Wildwood Pastors’ Association, Lazarus House became an ecumenical food pantry supported by various faith-based congregations throughout the Wildwoods. In February 2016, Lazarus House moved to its permanent location in the First Presbyterian Church of Wildwood, now known as the Living Waters Veterans’ Memorial Chapel.

Having a permanent home has allowed our services to expand beyond providing non-perishable staples. With the help of our community partners, our devoted volunteers, and our generous donors, we now offer a limited supply of fresh produce, dairy products, and frozen goods.
